Collection vehicle for Erfurt public utility INC.
From a crafter with a special design in the form of a hydraulic press for emptying the wastepaper basket, we are for the first time turning it into a purely electric vehicle. For our client, Stadtwerke Gruppe Erfurt, we convert the former combustion vehicle, which has a mileage of 260,000 km. It is completely electrified by us and therefore not only the engine is powered by electricity, but also the hydraulics.
The retrofit concept, i.e. the maintenance or renewal of vehicles with special bodies, is particularly economical. This not only eliminates the need to purchase a new vehicle, but also a considerable part of the purchase price. Stadtwerke Gruppe Erfurt is showing the way and for the first time has had a vehicle configured by us. The vehicle will soon be put back into public service.
A battery capacity of 43 kWh and thus a range of around 150 km was sufficient for the company. The engine output is 70 kWh and is sufficient for sufficient power and propulsion even when fully loaded. The wastebasket emptying vehicle will in future be used in the city centre or downtown area and will commute time and again between the emptying area and the operating area. Therefore, a maximum speed of 85 km/h is programmed to limit battery consumption upwards.
In the first steps, we completely dismantled the vehicle and repainted all components that remain, such as the frame, axle, cab and body. The next steps are to install the new components and extensively test the desired programming.
